treated in isolation till recovery and then
stay home for a week after discharged from
the hospital. One can go to work until
identified healthy;
5. All close exposed with SARS case or
probable case must be under observation for
2 weeks. If with suspicious signs (fever,
headache, coughing), one has to go to
hospital for further health check;

Precaution on SARS in Public Places
Public places such as hotel, restaurant,
inn, bar, cinema, hall, store, waiting room
and so on are asked do as the following to
prevent SARS:
1.Natural ventilation: This is preferable.
Please open doors and windows to keep indoor
air fresh;
2.Mechanical ventilation: Assure all the
ventilation machines run regularly, keep all
the filter nets and tubes clean. If air
conditioners are in use for proper
temperature and humidity, adequate fresh air
should be ensured. Air should be directly
discharged outside;
3. Air disinfections: Physic methods
such as ultraviolet radiation with low ozone
are advised to use for air disinfections in
ventilation machine chambers and circulatory
ventilation nets. Either 7ml 15% peracetia
acid boiled for 2 hours or 2% peracetia acid
sprayed at the concentration of
8ml/volume(m3) in the house for 1 hour is
effective as well. Ozone-makers or
ultraviolet radiation lights are recommended
if no people there.
4. Environment health: Keep environment
clean and lessen afloat dust;
5. Disinfections of utensils: Wash and
wipe daily utensils with 1000mg/L chloride
solution;
6. Employees: Keep oneself clean, often
wash hands. Don’t go to public places with
dense population as seldom as possible;
7. Establishment of daily health check
regulation: Once an employee is detected
suffering with fever or coughing and signs
like that, send he/she to a hospital for
further check;
8.All the probable SARS cases are ordered
to be isolated for treatment;
9. Any one who once closely contacted with
SARS case should stay home for 2 weeks for
observation. If no fever and coughing and
signs likewise develop, one can go to work;
10. Inform the local CDC if a probable
SARS case turned up. Ask CDC for help on
terminal disinfections if there is SARS
case.
